Girl Power Unite!

I had a long over due lunch with my super fabulous, tech savvy BFF, Laurie Davis (www.EflirtExpert.com). We met almost a decade ago, while we were both Avon Ladies. She's since moved to New York, and we launched our businesses at similar times- for similar reasons. Laurie helps people to find their voice and be heard on dating websites by creating their profiles, and sometimes helping to maintain their accounts, and offering dating advice for those first few encounters. I help clients to manage their time, by taking over their to-do lists, and hopefully allowing them to enjoy their "free time" more.
Because she's such a busy gal, and I seem to be at the mercy of my overwhelmed clients make our time together sparse, but never uneventful, or lame. We of course, exchanged Christmas gifts- but I got an added bonus... a belated birthday gift. Thirty was a tough pill to swallow, and having my sidekick all the way in NYC didn't take the edge off... however she really came through with such a thoughtful and unique idea (she's genius like that with gifts- ultra thoughtful, simple, but she does her homework)!
The card read, and I quote (with tears in my eyes- I'm sappy like that); "In honor of how we met, and who we are today, you'll be getting 3 shipments of Birchbox. Birchbox is a beauty and lifestyle delivery company, currating the most amazing products and delivering them to your door. January-March you'll receive shipments of 4-5 handpicked products to play with. Birchbox is a female-founded company, just like us! xoxo"
(The website is www.BirchBox.com)
For some reason, women owned small business really resinate with me- perhaps because it's our entrepreneurial spirit, knowing that they've experienced the same highs and lows, and probably have a great story behind their business. I gravitate towards lots of female-founded businesses, and they are my target market- as I know how time challenging it can be to start a business, and manage a life. So, the next few posts will be highlighting some unique and innovative, forward thinking women-owned small businesses!
Do you know someone who'd be a great feature? Email Info@ErrandsEtcetera.biz we'd love to check them out and include them in the blog!
Cheers!
Stacy
