You Can't Spell Time Without 'ME'

Every so often, I have to remind myself to take a few minutes each day and do something just for me- this could be reading a chapter of a book, stretching a few extra minutes and focusing on my breath, really enjoy a cup of coffee- without staring off into my computer screen, or lighting a candle and taking a nice relaxing bath.  Putting off my responsibilities as a doggie mom, a business owner, and girlfriend and taking a few minutes for me can really rejuvenate my mood and help me to stay focused and ultimately perform better.
Pre-Errands Etcetera, I was living in a triple decker apartment in Boston with a roommate.  I was bartending and working as a Banker I (read: sales person) for a major bank.  I hated my job.  I hated my boss. I was miserable.  I'm not meant to work in a cubicle, and I'm certainly not aggressive enough to be a sales person.  Every so often I'd take what was then called "Stacy-Day."  This day was marked on the calendar, and well planned out- from the time I'd leisurely wake up, to to the time I'd go to bed.  On the normal agenda, I'd take the train (I LOVE public transportation and take it as often as possible), and head into the city.  I would catch a mid morning movie- usually the latest chick-flick.  Sitting in the back of the theater, alone, with with my popcorn and soda, I was truly in my glory.  There's something so freeing about losing myself in a movie and dreaming about becoming an actual character.  Any of the daily stress, and pressure just seem to wash away.  After the movie, I'd head to a local small restaurant with a new book and continue with my relaxing day retreat from reality.  I love all kinds of foods, and love to try the smaller restaurants- while they may not be as popular, this is how I've found some of my favorite places! The day would wrap up with a trip to the salon, for either a touch up on my locks, or a bit of polish on my hands and toes!
Looking back, "Stacy-Days" were some of my favorite moments- spent quietly, alone, and preparing me for whatever challenges might lay ahead.  Today, "Stacy-Days" no longer exist- instead it's more like "Stacy-Hour," but when I do have that hour, I'm sure to spend it in a way that really benefits me.  I suppose since I actually love my job now, and everything is a positive challenge, I don't necessary need a full day affair.  I also, technically work less, which means I enjoy my weekends more.  My mind never shuts off, and it's continuously wandering and scanning for inspiration for work, and for my life. At this point I'm in charge of my bank account, my schedule, my own life; and knowing that, makes every day as refreshing as those "Stacy-Days" just a few years ago!
What to you do to recharge your battery?  If you had an entire day to spend it however you wanted, what would you do?

I have difficulty moderating me time. Either I let go entirely too much and forget important things or work is in the back of my mind getting in the way of me time.
